Anglais: This large house is quietly situated on the beautiful 65 km long Zezere Reservoir in central Portugal (Lisbon Airport is 150km away). The 3000m² grounds include a private pier (with boat). On the lake you will also find several marinas and surfing and diving clubs. In the surroundings there are a number of traditional Portuguese villages, but more famous tourist cities such as Tomar (8 km) and the Fatima pilgrimage site are also in the vicinity (30 km). Tomar’s most famous attraction is its 12th century Knights Templar castle containing the convent of the Order of Christ (a UNESCO site). The cultural cities of Batalha and Coimbra (72 km) and the seaside resort of Nazaré (100 km) are also worth a visit. Daily shopping can be done in Serra (3 km) where there is a market every Sunday, or further away in Tomar (with a shopping center) or even in Ferreira do Zêzere (9 km.)Disponibilités

Anglais: The Rio Zêzere works its way through the mountains where you will encounter a stunning landscape complete with delicious aroma provided by leafy wild pines. In this idyllic location lie five slate villages, which blend harmoniously into the landscape and are certainly worth a visit. To see the Zêzere River flowing from north to south, start in the village of Barroca. View the old mills in motion and cross the bridge to see rock engravings thousands of years old. If you are interested in this topic, please visit Casa Grande where the “Centro das Dinamizador Aldeias do Xisto‿ is located and ask for information on “the Route of Prehistoric Art‿. In the village of Janeiro de Cima you can hear a sound that you may not be familiar with. It is the house of looms in the "Casa das Tecedeiras" where skillful hands create linen pieces of art. On the banks of the river you will find a beach where you can relax and view a wooden boat on display. It is a replica of the boat which once was the only means to get from one bank of the river to the other. It was brought to the other side, to another village, which, due to its location, was called Janeiro de Baixo. A little further down the Zêzere you come to the dam of Albufeira do Cabril. ÿlvaro is a village which extends over a hill and lies by the river. It is one of the "white villages" in the network of slate villages (Rede de Aldeias do Xisto), so named because of their stone which is covered by a white plaster. Experience the rich religious heritage, a legacy of the religious order that lived here for centuries. One thing you should not miss is the delicious dish called "cabrito estonado", a culinary specialty of this region. Pedrógão Pequeno, where the river widens at the Barragem do Cabril dam, is an excellent place to relax. Aldeia, also a white village, which has noble houses and a number of landmarks (including an old bridge dating from the time of Philip of Spain) which you can discover while on a walk.- En ligne depuis: 2010-04-16
