Anglais: The peninsula of Lège Cap Ferret is an authentic (ie lacks the gaudiness and ostentation of other French resorts like the Cote d'Azur) and well-preserved environment and makes an excellent starting point for discovering the Gulf of Arcachon by bicycle, boat or on foot. The beaches of the Atlantic Ocean are wide and sandy here. At the tip of the peninsula there is the famous lighthouse of Cap Ferret. There are several great destinations for day trips like across the bay to Archalon. Here you can visit the Ville d'Hiver (winter town) with its 19th century villages with their quirky architecture. In the center of the Ville d'Hiver lies the Parc Mauresque with a wonderful observatory designed by Eiffel. You can go to the top via a 19th century lift. South of Arachon lies the Dune of Pyla, the largest sand dune in Europe. A journey to the summit is a must. From there you can see schools of bottlenose dolphins and porpoises playing just offshore. These are just two of the unusual and amazing places waiting for you to discover. Teich Ornithological Park, breeding grounds for many unique and rare birds; the nature of the interior of the the peninsula, canoeing in the valley of Leyre and visiting oyster farms can also be nice programmes during your holiday. There are also ancient monuments here like the Big Theatre, the Stock Market, the Cathedral of Saint André, the old quarters of Saint Michel and Saint Pierre, the Chartrons docksides, etc. You can take advantage of 150 km of bicycle paths to tour the region. For children there is a "petit train" and Parc Animalien la Coccinelle where children can feed baby lambs and goats. In short, this is a perfect choice for an exciting holiday.
