If the weather is not so good, there are a variety of museums at a distance of just 10 km. For example, the Beer Museum in Ertvelde; the Bardelaere Museum in Lembeke with its antique clothes and traditional costumes; the Jenever Museum in Eeklo; the Homeland Museum in Eeklo; the Mill Museum in Wachtebeke; and the Steam Train Museum in Maldegem. There is also an escargot breeder in Aardenburg who gives tours, and the Fishery Museum in Boekhoute is also interesting.
