Anglais: Balatonboglár is situated in a fascinating area, on the southern shore of Lake Balaton, surrounded by green rolling hills. Balatonlelle lies to the east, Fonyód to the west and Révfülöp is its neighbor in the north. A variety of fruits as well as grapes have been grown here for centuries. Tourism here dates back to the 70's, but it has been only recently that the town has experienced it’s true prosperity. Regarding tourism, the lake obviously plays a very important role, due primarily to its warm, shallow waters and sandy beaches. Balatonboglár has 2 beaches that have been restored to their natural state. Families with small children look for these kinds of hazard-free beaches, where their children can play freely and safely. The city itself is famous for its cultural and sporting events. Just 350m from the house there is a sports hall and swimming pool which even contains a sauna and solarium. The swimming pool is 25m and has 4 lanes. In the city’s exhibition halls one can view temporary and permanent folklore displays. For those fond of fishing, there are 40 species of fish awaiting them, including the noble Lake Balaton Pike-Perch. Surfing and sailing is possible or you can explore the inviting surroundings on excursions or by bike (the garden city can be reached within a few minutes). Furthermore, from the spherical lookout tower on the hill of Balatonboglár you have a wonderful panoramic view of Lake Balaton.
You can also visit Szőlőskislak, where you can stop by wine cellars and taste the noble wines of Balatonboglár. Several villages can be accessed by boat.
