A House with Garden to Feel Good and Relax Iris and Wolfgang wish you a Warm Welcome to our website and may be soon at our house in Villeneuve-Lès-Montréal, a small romantic village not far from Carcassonne in Southern France. Between the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenees you will find everything you need for a lovely holiday. You will not only find a lot of sun and Mediterranean climate but also a lot of natural and cultural sites and places of interest as the cathar castles, caves with prehistoric paintings, medieval villages and magnificent scenery.
Our house was built approx. in 1889. It is an old wine grower's house and belonged to a wine grower's family in Villeneuve-lès-Montréal. Since 2003 we have been carefully renovating and refurbishing the house with attention to the details so that the original character of the house will be maintained without missing a good standard of comfort. In 2008 we opened our 5m x 10m Swimming Pool. In the garden you can enjoy your meals under an old chest nut tree or just relax and take a sun bath. The garden is typical for Southern France with lots of old trees (oliviers, figuiers, fruit tree, etc.) You can taste and smell the different flowers fruits and herbs like lavenda, rosmary, thyme etc. throughout the year.
Our guesthouse is embedded in rolling green fields and vineyards of the Malepere region. Villeneuve-Lès-Montréal is a tiny little medieval village (circulade) with a roman church of XIIIth century and old farm and wine growers' houses. From our house you have a beautiful view to the town of Montréal with its majestic cathedral which is about 4 km. Behind Montréal you can see the Montagne Noire (black mountains). On the other side southwards you can see the snowy peeks of the Pyreenees.
