Apartment at Vilamoura Our apartment is on the first floor with full elevator access and 2 parking spaces in the underground car park. Facilities include landscaped gardens, a lounge bar, central piazza with restaurant/ snack bar, pool bar, Large outdoor pool, kids pool and heated indoor pool. There is a playground and a kids club. Located just a stones through away is the stunning 5 Star Tivoli Victoria hotel.You have full access to all the facilities within the hotel including a 10% discount to the luxurious Banyan Tree Spa. The Tivoli hotel group also manage the apartments at The Residences so you know your in for 5 Star treatment. If Golf is your thing, you got Victoria on your doorstep, Old course, Millennium, Pinhal and Laguna are only 5 minutes by free shuttle bus. All five courses come with 25% discount when you stay at The Residences. If it's the beach your after, shuttle buses leave outside the complex which takes you into Vilamoura. The marina and the fantastic beaches all only 5 minutes drive.

Coast/Beach

Falesia beach is the nearest and and is 7 minutes drive. A shuttle bus runs between The Residences and the beach.

Golf

The weather in The Algarve is ideal for golf 12 months of the year. I have played in January and in July. Although a bit hot in summer and the odd shower in January it is the cheapest and the quietest time to play golf. With 5 Championship courses within 5-10 minutes of each other the main one being Victoria, designed by Arnold Palmer to choose from they all offer something special. The Residences at Victoria was awarded Best Golf Development in Portugal 2010 By Bloomberg Television.

Travel

Faro is the nearest international airport which is 25 minute drive to Vilamoura, approximately €30-€35 by taxi. Taxi to The marina from the The Residences is €8-€10. Car hire is not essential but I use a company called Zitauto.

Distances

The marina is 5 -7 minutes drive. Lots of restaurants, pubs, and snack bars. Fishing, diving and sailing excursions.

Further details

The Marina is surrounded by an array of excellent restaurants, from seafood to steaks. Italian, Indian, Japanese, Chinese and of course Portuguese. For a great night out visit the Casino and try your luck on the Tables or book to see a floor show. During the day, there are plenty of boat trips that leave from the marina. From dolphin and whale watching to deep sea fishing or just a pleasure cruise up and down the coast.

For shoppers and bargain hunters a trip to Faro is a must. Plenty of large shopping malls. The Forum is a particular favourite.
