Getting there
Uchaux is a small village in the Orange countryside, surrounded by wonderful landscapes of forests and vineyards. The beautiful forests offer superb walks and for wine experts, it is an excellent base to discover the many famous vineyards the area has to offer.
PLACES TO VISIT:
Orange. 10 km. City of art and history, Orange boasts an exceptional historical heritage including its famous Antique Theatre built in the early days of Christianity, and now listed as a monument of the world. The attractive old city with narrow streets, well restored façades and ancient shady squares will delight all visitors.
Chateauneuf du Pape. 20 km. Medieval village built on the side of a hill, overlooked by the ruins of its ancient chateau and surrounded by its world famous vineyards.
Vaison la Romaine. 30 km. Picturesque city with little shady squares, ancient doorways, and narrow cobbled streets dotted with superb fountains but also highly interesting from an archaeological point of view with many Roman remains.
Beaumes de Venise. 30 km. Charming village nestled at the foot of the famous Dentelles de Montmirail on the "wine trail" (la route des vins), and renowned for its famous Beaumes de Venise Muscat wine, the best and sweetest wine you are ever likely to taste!

Nîmes. 65 km. On the border between Provence and Languedoc, the city boasts some of the most extensive Roman remains in Europe. Famous for its arena, the best preserved amphitheatre of the Roman era built under Emperor Augustus in the 1st century A.D.
