The history of this home and the Cook Family played significant roles in bringing fame and fortune to Montana and Broadwater County, and it’s legacy continues till today. The innkeepers Steve and Sandy Rose will personally share this fascinating story over Hors d'Oeuvres or breakfast.

The Mansion is surrounded in the summer by Green Grassy Lawns and Big Cottonwood Trees, all fed by our natural steaming Warm Springs, once a popular camp site for Indians and Traders.

Canyon Ferry Mansion Bed and Breakfast is the ideal location to relax and unwind. Located next to Canyon Ferry Lake, Montana’s premier sportsman’s lake, the Mansion lies between the Elk Horn and the Big Belt Mountains, adjacent to the Canyon Ferry at the Missouri River Wildlife Refuge. The refuge lies just north of the famous Crimson Bluffs on the Trail of Lewis & Clark and is known for it’s sixty-seven kinds of Bird species, Antelope, Deer and Moose, Fox, Coyote, Wild Turkey, Sand Hill Cranes and Pelicans.

The surrounding property and views host Hereford cattle, fine Horses, and a Pheasant farm. Locate 2.5 miles north and across the Missouri River from Townsend, Montana, “The Spoke of Montana History”. The Mansion is easy access right off Hwy 287 just 35 miles Southeast of Helena, and is centrally located between Montana’s four most Historic major Cities; Helena, Bozeman, Butte, and Greatfalls, but maintains it quiet tranquility and feeling of the old west homestead. Canyon Ferry Lake is World Renown for its Ice Sailing, (and is touted as the fastest in the world by American Cup Sailing Enthusiasts) Wind Skating, and Ice Fishing. Other Winter Activities include Fishing Derbies, & Snowmobiling the high ridges in deep powder. Sleds and Skates can be rented. Rides on the iceboats can be had throughout the season on week-ends usually at no charge by just hanging out at lakes edge or a private sailor can be hired to show you the ropes.
