Cortijo la Suerte : A Charming Holiday Home in Alpujarras, Sierra Nevada, Spain Welcome to the web site of Cortijo la Suerte, a charming holiday home in the Alpujarras region of Andalucia in southern Spain. You can relax in the tranquility of the house and its surroundings, enjoy the pretty local village of Pitres , visit the six neighboring villages, wander through the rustic farmland and trek the rugged hillsides.Cortijo la Suerte provides comfort, simplicity and privacy, and gives our guests an authentic experience of Spanish rural life.
Cortijo la Suerte sits on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, surrounded by a timeless landscape of terraced fields, orchards, olive groves and picturesque white villages. The magnificent vista takes in the steep-sided valley of the Rio Trevélez and the rugged ridges on the far side.The house is set up to take advantage of every season, with a roof terrace to enjoy the winter sun or summer evenings under the stars.
Downstairs, a shaded terrace provides a perfect place for breakfast and alfresco dining, and a cool retreat from the summer sun. The central heating system and floor heating upstairs keep the Cortijo cosy warm in winter, and at night you can snuggle up in front of a wood-fired stove. On the upper floor, the spacious main bedroom has a double bed, washstand, picture windows and doors opening onto the terrace. The second bedroom has two single beds and the new bathroom next door, with washstand, bath and toilet.
Downstairs, a second bathroom has another toilet, a wash basin and an unusual semi-circular shower with a beautiful view over the valley.The roomy, well organized kitchen is right next to the dining area, so several people can prepare and share their meals together (we love to cook ourselves!). Fresh food, gourmet ingredients and local specialties are all available at the supermarket, bakery and village market in nearby Pitres. Shopping Malls, No Smoking, Panoramic Mountain Views, Screened Terrace, Deck, Flat Screen TV, Shower, Private BBQ, Double Bed, Gas Stove, Outdoor Shower, Private Indoor Hot Tub, TV/DVD, Child Friendly, Private Bathroom, Outdoor Fireplace, No Telephone, Swimming, Poolside View, Satellite TV, Washing Machine Only, Spa Bath/Jetted Tub, Wood Stove, Terrace, No Microwave, Garden View, Porch, Private Charcoal Barbecue, No Dishwasher, Private Swimming Pool, Backyard, Mountain Malaga is the largest airport at about two and a half hours driving distance. An abundance of airlines fly to Malaga. Granada is a much smaller airport but closerby: one and a half hours driving. Cars can be rented at both airports.

Payment Policy: All rates are in Euros.
During middle and low season there is a discount for bookings of more than one week.
A security deposit of Euro 150 is required to cover for possible damage.
A down payment of 50% of the rent is payable within eight days of making a booking. The balance of the rent plus the security deposit must be paid not later than four weeks before arrival. Cancellation Policy: Cancellation by the renter* If a booking is cancelled, and the owner is notified not later than two weeks before planned arrival date, 50% of the rent is charged (i.e. the down payment will be forfeited). We will confirm the cancellation and refund any additional payments made. If a booking is canceled within two weeks of the planned arrival date, 100% of the rent is charged, and any security deposit paid will be refunded. Of course we will try to rent the Cortijo to others, and when successful we will only charge 25% and refund the remainder.
Cancellation by the Owner* If the renter does not observe these rental conditions, the owner is entitled to cancel the rental agreement without any refund or costs payable. If, for reasons beyond the owner’s control (eg fire, flood, natural disaster, etc), the property cannot be rented as agreed, the owner can cancel the rental agreement, and will refund all payments to the renter, but will not be liable for any additional costs. Rules: Rates are subjected to change without prior notice.
Pets are allowed, but their owners should ensure that they are not interfering with local wildlife and animals of our neighbors.
