Charming Townhouse in the Historical Centre of Saumur This bijoux townhouse is ideally located in the historic centre of Saumur. It has been sympathetically renovated, highlighting the unique atmospheric features of a tuffeau home. All bathrooms have been newly installed with a contemporary style using the Asian-inspired "wet rooms" or "douche Italienne". The kitchen is well appointed with new appliances including the retro-style Smeg refrigerator and range-style stove. The master suite has a walk-in wardrobe (closet) and large en-suite bathroom. All bedrooms are spacious and have dedicated bathrooms. The whole house is light and airy and features a beautiful walnut staircase, original fireplace and oak beams. There is a walled courtyard with garden furniture, ideal for eating or drinking al fresco.

Step outside the door of the garden and walk up to Place St Pierre for an apperitif, lunch or dinner from the array of cafes and bistros. Our local boulanger (bakery) is also here for that morning croissant. If you have forgotten any groceries, there is a local supermarket less than 5 mins walk away or for a bigger shop, the hypermarket is less than 5 mins drive away. Saumur also offers some unique boutiques and antique shops and there is always the food market every Saturday morning.

This townhouse is ideally located for exploring the area, whether it be on foot or by car. There are numerous chateaux within an hour's drive away as well as a plethora of vineyards, most of whom open their doors for wine tastings and special events. The town itself holds numerous events throughout the year and the Tourist Office is a great resource to all that is going on in the area.

Other activities include balloon rides, canoeing down the Loire River, cycle rides as well as the spectacular Cadre Noir (horse dressage), which Saumur is famous for. The area is perfect for a relaxing vacation or for keeping you busy - whatever you are in the mood for doing.
