Staying at Estabrook House in the heart of St. Johnsbury is a perfect central location to for downhill and cross country skiing or snowshoeing in Vermont and Northern New Hampshire.

St J and the Estabrook House are the perfect place to rest and call home whether you are here for business or pleasure. Summer, fall, winter, and spring activities abound. Everything from festivals, cycling, hiking, foliage, skiing, and paddling, to bluegrass, jazz, classical music, art. architecture, and natural history. Our St. Johnsbury B&B offers you a comfortable room with a cozy bed, comfy robes, hairdryer, and a sitting area.

In the morning the dining room table is set for you to relax and enjoy a delicious full breakfast. The menu varies according to the day, the season, and the innkeepers outlook for the day. Relax or socialize with old and new friends in the living room, family room, dining room, in front of the fire, or on one of the porches; borrow a book from the library or use the wireless internet access.

In keeping with the eclectic nature of the house, each guest room has its own unique personality - all equally comfortable and enjoyable. In each room is the coziness of robes, slippers, soft linens along with the convenience of a hair dryer and sitting area. All of the guest rooms at the Estabrook House are located on the second floor. Our guests have use of a family style bathroom that features an antique claw foot soaking tub for relaxing baths, as well as a separate shower.

Parkside - A queen size bed overlooks Arnold park through a large bay window with window seat. Stained glass transoms that top each bay delight the senses as the light changes with the seasons and the time of day.

Rose Room - An ornate Victorian full size bed suite is the focus of this room. However, the tall curved glass windows of the house's large front turret invite you to relax in the room's sitting area.

Sunrise - Sunrise is a queen size room to be enjoyed for its morning light and view overlooking the St. J Hills.

The Nook - 2 Twins nestled on the East side of the house overlooking the St J Hills. A smaller quiet room that is just right for traveling friends or additional members of a family.

Ski, Cycle, hike, paddle, golf, or take day trips to explore the the diversity of northern New England. At the end of the day unwind at the house or take a walk to visit the local shops downtown; mosey through our bookstore and relax with a cafe drink and snack; enjoy the galleries and independent films; listen to music that may be happening any day of the week.

Excellent cafes and restaurants are within walking distance of the house or only a short drive away. However, there may be times when you want to relax and have dinner at the house. A home cooked meal at the house is by special arrangement and based on a fixed price menu. 24 hour notice is required so please ask about this when you make your reservations or when you arrive at the house.

As residents it is our goal to help protect and preserve our forested areas, clean waters, working landscapes, historic barns and buildings, and to preserve our strong ties to agricultural and community traditions, all of which continue to shape our rural lifestyle and scenic landscapes. As hosts our goal is to share these traditions, features, and landscapes with visitors to the region in a way that will help us to sustain our most memorable experiences for years to come.

The Nook room rate is $95.00 per night.

Our king size room with its en-suite bath is $150 a night and can only be booked by contacting us directly.
