Spacious 4 Bedroom Self Catering Chateau in Saint Georges Sur Erve Built in 1720, Le Vieux Presbytère commands pride of place near the village center. A fantastic venue for a reunion, multi-generation holiday, sabbatical, family holiday or retreat. Entering the grounds through large gates from the quiet street, there is parking at the front for two or three cars. More parking at the back. The grounds are enclosed by walls. The grounds, just less than an acre, have plenty of room to run and play on the grass. There is a covered barbecue area with table and chairs. Front entrance to house on ground level and on first floor (see photos).

The majestic staircase gives the interior its character. You might feel like you're living in a Jane Austen novel! On the ground floor, a tiled hall and laundry room. On the first floor, large salon, with TV and books. Elegant dining room which seats 10. Adjoining the dining room is the fully equipped kitchen with oven,stove, microwave, dishwasher, kettle and coffee percolator. Wonderful easterly views.

Some adult size dressing up clothes are provided. 3. Mystery dinner game provided for ten guests, With full instructions and clues. Have fun unravelling the 18th century mystery while you enjoy dinner in the period dining room. 4. Free French lessons available for all ages (when owners are in residence next door....summer and Christmas). Take advantage of two free lessons per week. Caroline Jones is a teacher of French with 14 years experience.

The area is rich in history, with châteaux from Medieval to Renaissance. It is close to the Cité de Caractère, Sainte Suzanne, where there are fun activities for children, which bring the history of the village alive. Lassay les Chàteaux, Mayenne, Laval, and Château Gontier all have medieval châteaux and much more. Saint Georges is 2 1/2 hours from the D Day Landing beaches and Mont St Michel to the north. To the south, is the Loire Valley.

The city of Tours, and the Loire Valley, are a little over 2 hours away. Here you can visit the world famous châteaux and vineyards/ wine cellars. Explore well-preserved local Roman sites (Jublains or Entrammes). Swim or boat at two fresh water lakes, or walk the green rolling hills of this beautiful, peaceful Mayenne Department. The Mayenne river, which runs north to south through the department, has a tow path for walking or biking. Enjoy local cheeses and apple products, including Calvados, Pommeau, and cider.
