The Chateau is the Perfect Location for your Special Occasions Chateau des Peres, house of the ‘fathers’, was originally built for monks (hence the name ‘Peres’) in the Sixteenth Century. The house is set in 25 acres being the remaining part of the original estate, Domaine de la Tauge, which surrounds the small River Tauge. The Chateau is found near the small village of St Etienne de Tulmont (3 mins by car) in the South West of France in the Department de Tarn-et-Garonne.

The Property is 40 minutes north of Toulouse. Although St Etienne has all the essentials (pharmacy, bakers, co-op) Montauban is our local shopping centre being no more than 15 minutes to the centre. Montauban has excellent shopping facilities, a good open market on a Saturday morning and a comprehensive array of places to eat. There are also two extensive supermarkets (Auchan and E.Leclerc) which are 10 mins from the Chateau.

The apartment is the top floor of the Chateau and is accessed by its own private staircase. The apartment has been decorated and furnished to a high standard with an attempt to make it feel like ‘home from home’. Kitchen - large family kitchen with fridge freezer, cooker, dishwasher and washing machine, together with iron and ironing board. Opposite the kitchen door there is a balcony where an early morning cuppa can be enjoyed. Sitting room - with Plasma Screen TV, which has UK Sky channels. Also has a DVD Player & VCR (collection of videos, limited DVD's), Stereo (CD’s not supplied). There is a balcony off the sitting room where one can enjoy a glass of wine whilst enjoying the cool evening.

The owners have a pool complex for your exclusive usage which comprises of a solar heated 12x6 metre swimming pool. There is a WC, shower and changing room. The main pool house is a raised area overlooking the pool which offers shade and a super place to while away the day and dine al fresco. There is a large gas barbecue, bespoke kitchen and dining area which is also equipped with two refrigerators. There is ample pool furniture for relaxing on. You really can spend the whole day by the pool!

This is a large apartment and additional bed/beds can be added to the various bedrooms upon request at an agreed rate. All the shutters in the apartment are working shutters and are (closed) used to keep the apartment cool when the weather is very hot. For those that wish a little exercise before their morning croissant, bikes (4) are available to take you to St. Etienne, under your own power!

There is a French couple who resides in the ground floor apartment in the Chateau. Philippe has a full time professional job in Toulouse, but in general he is there to meet and greet. He helps with keeping the grounds tidy and pool cleaning. However, he will happily instruct guests on how to put the robotic pool cleaner in or where to take refuse sacks etc. Philippe will be delighted to offer advice on the local area for any one who wishes it. He speaks excellent English. Poolside View, VCR, Private Swimming Pool, Shower, Washing Machine Only, Balcony Blagnac is 40mins drive from the house.

Merignac is 2 hours from the house but the airport is very close to the Autoroute and the drive is a pleasant one through the wonderful vineyards of Bordeaux. Go fly here mainly in the summer but occasionally very cheap deals can be found.
