La Casa del Gecko, Perfect Location, Lg.Villa, Lg. Pool, 4 min Walk To Beach La Casa del Gecko (The Gecko’s House) is a spacious villa perfectly located in a private gated and secure community of Playacar (phase 2), immediately adjacent to Playa del Carmen. Our villa is set in the middle of Villas del Mayab that is the only group of villas in Playacar built with ample spacing between villas surrounded by a large shared garden area. It is a 3-5 minute walk to beautiful white sandy beaches; the 5th avenue bustling shopping zone catering to a variety of shopping whims; a host of international and local restaurants and the ferry dock to Cozumel. Another outstanding feature is that the villa complex backs on to the 12th hole of the championship Playacar Golf Course designed by Robert van Hagge. Xcaret is close by and is a fabulous “eco-archeological” theme park with exciting activities for all ages.

Casa del Gecko is a 2,200 sq. ft. home decorated in traditional Mexican style. It features 3 bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms, and air conditioning and is fully stocked with all your basic needs including fresh bottled water. Maid service is included twice a week. ($25.00 per day extra if required) A bilingual property manager will be at your service to answer any questions and will ensure that you will have a smooth and memorable vacation.

The main floor consists of a laundry room (washer and dryer) with storage space for the beach towels, beach chairs, 2 bikes and toys all available to the guests. The kitchen includes a pantry stocked with cooking essentials. Adjacent to it is the dining room; a circular sunken living room with windows all the way around it; a half bath and a bedroom with two twin beds and a private bathroom with a shower. At the top of the circular domed stairway on the second level are two bedrooms separated by a foyer and an outdoor balcony. Both bedrooms have queen size beds. In addition the master bedroom has a foldout single bed and a large master ensuite. The second bedroom has its own bathroom with a shower. The circular balcony, which looks over the gardens and the pool, is itself like a garden surrounded in tropical plants and is a perfect hideaway with a hammock to relax in.

The lower back patio faces the gardens and pool area. It has a barbeque and patio table and chairs. Just steps away is a palapa used for relaxing or partying. This perfect venue can also be used to host friendly gatherings, weddings or just hang out with your extended family or friends. Beside it is a large swimming pool with a shallow place for small children. This unsupervised area provides lounge chairs from where one can watch the golfers on the 12th hole of the beautiful Playacar Golf Course or just bask in the sun. Next door to the villa is a tennis court and just steps away is a world-class bird aviary.

As a bonus, guests of Casa Gecko have access to the Playacar Privilege Card. This enables the cardholder to discount fees at the Playacar Golf Course. Across the street is the Reef Club where the guests can use the facilities of the resort (beach chairs, pool and towel service), or for a daily fee, can also enjoy the all-inclusive privileges. The hotel has several packages available, which entitle the user to meals, snacks, beverages, entertainment, non-motorized water sport activities, lounge chairs and beach towels. The card user must confirm prices at the hotel and golf course.
