Charlie Bates Cottage in Penneshaw An original KI settlers home, this gorgeous historic stone cottage is over 100 years old, sitting high on the hill keeping watch over beautiful Hog's Bay. The cottage has been lovingly restored and refurbished offering attractive, clean, well appointed facilities to the astute traveler looking for quality accommodation. A recent extension consisting of a modern fully equipped kitchen, dining area with ocean views, laundry, spacious heated bathroom with separate shower and claw foot bath have made this unique piece of history a fantastic choice for your visit to Kangaroo Island.

Curl up in front of the stunning open fire place, watch the LCD TV, read a book, or enjoy time with your loved ones. Conveniently located only 4 minutes from the Sea link ferry terminal and a short stroll to the wonderful swimming beach of Hog’s Bay. Feed the wallabies and spectacular blue wrens on the lawn, try your hand at fishing off the Penneshaw jetty or simply relax on the verandah with your favourite glass of Kangaroo Island wine and watch the sun set over the ocean.

If there's one decision you wont regret this year, Charlie's on KI is it. Charlie Bates Cottage has 2 bedrooms, with the main bedroom featuring a comfortable queen size bed, and the 2nd bedroom has a double bed and a 2 tier bunk set. The couch in the lounge can be converted in to a double bed when necessary. Also there is a trundle bed available.

A feature of the bedrooms and lounge is the beautiful Baltic Pine timber floorboards. There is an open fireplace in the lounge for the sometimes chilly evenings. For your entertainment there is a DVD & LCD TV. All linen is supplied. The kitchen has been recently fully renovated, and is well equipped. The dining area at Charlies is light and features views over the sea. All new bathroom with a claw foot bath, separate shower and toilet. In the laundry there's a washing machine and an additional separate toilet. Charlie Bates Cottage is equipped with split system reverse cycle air conditioning.
