Almakepa Bed and Breakfast : Offers 4 Guest Rooms Including a Family Suite We are a dog friendly family business made up from Alan, Mal, Keiron and Pat. If you take the first two letters from each name in order you will find ALMAKEPA. This is how we found the name for our Bed & Breakfast. We have 4 guest rooms including a family suite, all rooms are en-suite with shower. All of our rooms have tea/coffee making facilities. All rooms are heated should you come to stay in the colder months. All linen and towels are provided for your comfort. We are open all year round and have bookings available for the Christmas season.
Should you not want to be in the UK for Christmas, then come and visit us for a special Christmas break (special rates for 1 week or more). We have single beds if required. The Dordogne is a very beautiful place to visit and steeped in history either for a holiday or even if you are passing through to the south of France or Spain why not stop off and take in some local history and breathtaking views.
We are situated in the Dordogne about an hours drive from either Bergerac or Bordeaux airports in a small hamlet called Le Pacaud. We have 3 1/2 acres of land which looks out over fields and countryside We have 2 pigmy goats which we acquired with the property when we purchased it just over 2 years ago. We have done extensive renovation on the house and the land and recently have put in a swimming pool to cool down on those very hot summer days that we have here.
We have an orchard and vegetable garden which provides us with all the fruit for our homemade jams and preserves, homemade fruit pies and crumbles. And of course fresh vegetables for dinner. If you come to stay with us during the fruit season you can try the delicious cherries, pears, apples & sharon fruits straight from the tree.
In parcoul just a few minutes walk up the road, we have a leisure/ water fun park called Le Paradou which has a man made beach, pedalos, bikes and lots of things for the children to do. As well as having a really nice bar for the adults to relax in, they have a very nice eating area (with very reasonable food prices), where you can take in the beautiful surroundings and know that the children are in a safe place.
There is a Kyak and canoe centre 3km away. If you would like to travel further afield there is a beautiful marina and beach in Royan which is about an hour and a half's drive from where we are situated. Royan has a fabulous market and boat trips to the lighthouse as well as numerous seafood restaurants to enjoy. We are local to 3 villages where you can purchase anything you require with lots of local produce wine, cheeses, french sticks etc.
There are 2 cinemas in two of the local villages for something different to do while you're on holiday. The main town is about 15 minutes away. We are about to stock our own small lake with fish. It is an ideal location for cycling/walkers and artists alike with the beautiful scenery and some outstanding historic buildings/churches. Parking Available, Poolside View, Swimming, Near Beach, Beach, Shower, Community Swimming Pool Our nearest airports are Bergerac and Bordeaux.
