Welcome to Villa Rosa Bed & Breakfast in Oxford with Lovely Garden Villa Rosa is nestled in 2 acres of rolling lawn and lovely gardens. In the Spring and Summer masses of roses greet you as you drive into the property. It is very quiet and peaceful here with only the songs of birds to wake you in the mornings. Tony and Sybil moved from Christchurch in April 2010 – driven by a change of pace – they renovated the house and created Villa Rosa. Tony and Sybil have lived in several parts of New Zealand, so have a wide knowledge of the country and the local countryside. They have also travelled widely overseas. Their children are scattered throughout the world, so they have had the opportunity to spend time in Japan, Dubai, England, Italy, France and Australia.

Tony and Sybil are enjoying the bird and animal life in Oxford and are getting to know the regular visitors to their garden – Kahu the Australasian Harrier Hawk, Thrushes, Fantails, Yellowhammers, Chaffinches, Lizards, a Brown tree frog, very large Hares and Rabbits in the vegetable garden. Suu-kyi, the family Burmese cat, settled in very quickly and loves climbing the trees and finding hiding spots in the long grass.

Villa Rosa offers three unique rooms, each have views to our garden or the countryside. Relax in a shared living and dining room or spend some quiet time in the separate TV room. Enjoy a complimentary breakfast with the sounds of birds and the clean crisp air in the mornings.

Paris: This private room includes a queen bed, en-suite and access to courtyard looking out onto a small orchard. The en-suite has a large shower, under floor heating, wall heater and heated towel rail.

Montefalco: The room is a large queen bedroom, it has a bay window which overlooks the expansive lawn and garden. This room has bay window with doors opening out to terrace. Full en-suite with under floor heating, wall heater and heated towel rail.

Bonnieux: Is a double bedroom with a queen bed and private bathroom. The bathroom has a full sized bath and shower with fan, heater and heated towel rail.

Villa Rosa is a 5 to 10 minute walk or a 2 minute drive into the township of Oxford which has interesting small boutique style shops, cafes, art galleries, museum, library, butcher shop and supermarket. Each Sunday the farmers market are very popular with locals and draws many visitors from all over the area. There is something for everyone in Oxford.

Oxford is only 30 minutes drive to Rangiora and 45 minutes to the Garden City of New Zealand, Christchurch. Christchurch International Airport of is approximately 45 minutes from Oxford and it is a lovely drive through typical Canterbury farmland to Oxford. There are shuttle buses available from the Airport or other arrangements may be made.
