Traditional House Build Above a Shoemaker's Meuseum This traditional small house stands in the centre of Spilia. Built in 1870 by Nicolas Kapournays with stones and “plithari”, it was renovated and had its doors opened in October 2007 by the Minister of Interior, during a ceremony organized by the com-munity of the village.

Spilia is a small village in the mountains of Troodos, at an altitude of 1100m, some 65kms from Nicosia, 60kms from Limassol, 15kms from the peak of Troodos and only 4kms from the main road Nicosia-Troodos. In the big forest surrounding Spilia, you can find many of the 127 local plants of Cyprus e.g. the national plant (cyclamen) and the national tree (latzia). Spilia is located at the crossing of six roads trough which one can visit many interesting villages of Solia and Pitsilia On the first floor of this two-storey house, you can see the unique “museum of the shoemaker” created by its owners, Andreas and Flora Chrysanthou, in memory of Andreas’ father. The house consists of one bedroom with a traditional bed and wardrobe, both made in the beginning of the 20th century. The sitting room, with exciting traditional furniture, looks like a living museum.

A beautiful kitchen and a small veranda with traditional flowers complete an excep-tional small house, in which you can live in an unforgettable environment.
