Trullo Pinolo: Peace and Comfort in An Other-Worldly Place Close to Civilization Trullo Pinolo: peace and comfort in an other-worldly place close to the civilized world. Only a few kilometers outside the splendid baroque city of Martina Franca. Situated in a hectare of pine trees (with edible pine nuts), in the Valle d'Itria, you can enjoy absolute peace. The Trullo, five cones and one lamia, a cubic structure, consists of two bedrooms (one double-bed, the other with twin beds), two bathrooms, a living room with fire place, kitchen and dining cone. Our house is fully furnished, partly in colonial style, and is provided with all modern amenities.

They include running hot and cold water (from the safe public water supply, an added advantage in a region where many houses still rely on rain water from their private cistern), central heating, satellite television, washing machine, dishwasher, and a kitchen whose equipment has been carefully chosen by the owner, who loves to cook. In front of the house is a big terrace where you can eat out in the open under the awning or watch the starry splendors of the Southern sky while enjoying the aroma of the pine trees. Martina Franca with its white-washed baroque palazzi made of local sand stone is the major city of the Valle d'Itria, both economically and culturally. You can attend the internationally renowned Valle d'Itria festival, frequent the elegant shops and eat in fine restaurants.

The locally grown fruit and vegetables that you can buy at the market have a taste that many of us who are used to shopping in supermarkets (also available) may have forgotten.

The climate is mild in winter and warm and dry in summer, when you will find temperatures of between 25 and 30 degrees centigrade very pleasant in the shadow of the pine trees and the gentle breeze that often blows here. The sea is not far away; it will take about half an hour to drive to the beach. You even have the choice of two seas, the Adriatic and the Ionian, and even closer are the public swimming pools of Martina Franca. Non-smokers only!
