Keonis Coffee Shack, A Family-Friendly Hideaway Whether you call Keoni’s a small house or a simple cottage, it is a comfortable and economical vacation home in a stunning location. This 900 square foot, recently-built house is nestled in a lush, green valley of tropical vegetation, flowers and fruit, and, it is only a 5-10 minute walk to the shore and Laupahoehoe’s beautiful cliff-lined coast. Enjoy privacy with easy access.
A lot of history has passed by this jewel of a location but today it is quiet and peaceful, with only several other homes, including the family that manages it, and the beach park nearby. It is a few minutes drive to the small town of Laupahoehoe. The surrounding region, known as Hamakua, is largely agricultural.
Keoni’s is an affordable choice for families with children or small groups of congenial adults. It is furnished for simple living to appeal to travelers and eco tourists who prefer nature to luxury. The cabin has a spacious lay-out with two rooms in addition to the bath. The large kitchen area has a new gas range and refrigerator and is furnished with all the basics you will need.

Walk to the shore at sunrise and watch waves roll over King Umi's favorite boyhood surfing spot. In the Winter, the waters off the Point seems to be a popular place for whales with babies, for young whales can often be seen diving and playing with their mothers.
