The Olive Grove - Spectaclular Sunsets - Sea Views - Mountain Views - Peaceful The Olive Grove is 174 sq mtrs large and is set in 4000 sq m of olive grove and well stocked gardens. The house is made up of 3 levels - on the ground floor there are 3 bedrooms - 2 doubles and one single and a large bathroom with bath/ shower,toilet. All bedrooms have access to the terrace that surrounds the house. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms (1 double bed and one with bunk beds), shower room with toilet and spacious open plan kitchen/ diner/ living room leading on to main balcony with spectacular views down to the salt lakes and sea and over to the islands of Kalymnos and Pserimos. The sun sets over Kalymnos so the views are incredible. All the windows have mosquito screens and there are frestanding fans available.
Stairs then lead up to the laundry area which leads to the roof terrace with Panoramic views - mountain as well as sea. Amazing sunsets and stargazing!!! We hope that you have anything you might need here to include 24 hr internet WIFI, TVs, PS2, CD player - if there is anything else you may need let us know and we will see what we can do!
The Olive Grove is located in the centre of the island. If you hire a car (or bring your own) it is a great base. There is so much to do here - tours to the Sponge Divers Island of Kalymnos, the Volcano Nissyros, trips to Turkey, Greek Evening, sunset cruise, pinics with BBQ etc can all be booked at Tingaki. Diving is available from the harbour in Kos Town as well as Kardamena. Horse riding along the beach at sunset is available at the Salt Lakes - as well as daily rides.
Watersports are available on various parts of the island - Tingaki, Kardamena, Kefalosand Marmari. There are bananas, pedalos, windsurfing, jetski and paragliding to name but a few.... Private top of the range speed boat hire is also available (details on request). If you like cycling mountain bikes are available to hire in Kardamena and tours are available. If you like walking......there are too many to mention here. If you like going off road Kos is the place and views are amazing!
Kos is a wonderful place - there is everything you can think of here. It takes about 3 days to drive around the island. There are beautiful beaches and bays at Kefalos as well as neolithic caves, the ruins of the Basilica of St Stephen and the monastries of St John and Saint Theologos. Limnionas is an amazing little fishing harbour. Antimachia has an old traditional house, windmill and castle of the Knights of St John. Kardamena has the windfarm (amazing walk up and views), lovely beaches and watersports together with the ruins of the Temple of Appollon and also a traditional village museum on the harbour. (Kardamena also has great nightlife). Mastichari is a beautiful fishing village on the sea with lots of great fish tavernas and is where boats go across to Kalymnos. Marmari has nice beaches. Tingaki has a sandy beach and very shallow water - also a great nightlife. Last but not least there is Kos Town which has everything from shops - tavernas - nightlife - ruins!!!
3 Minutes away from the Olive Grove are the traditional mountain villages of Evangelistria, Assomatos, Lagoudi and Zia. Zia is the main village with lots of shops selling traditional goods - hand made tablecloths, crocheted work, lace, herbs and oils. The views from up here are breathtaking. Lagoudi is a traditional village with one cafe neon (little cafe) run by Dionissia and Antonis - it is basic but truly Greek. The menu is limited but excellent - Dinonissia is the best cook in the world. If you are lucky, Antonis might play the 'violi' and sing - he also speaks Italian! Then there is Christina's Antique and Coffee shop... Walks up here are incredible - you will not believe the views.
