Hornos is a municipality and lies within the Nature Park of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas, which belongs to the region of the Sierra de Segura. Pine forests make up approximately 80% of Hornos' territory, and the surroundings contain many attractive natural landscapes, including rugged highlands and the El Tranco reservoir. The urban center is situated on a large cliff, crowned by a castle, and has retained the atmosphere of a medieval village. It overlooks one of the offshoots of the El Tranco Lake.
