Two Bedroom Cottage Sleeping 6 People in Medieval Castle Village in Provence In a charming Roman Provence spa near the Verdon gorges and lakes, you will be staying in a renovated 3-storey 18th century cottage with easy access to colourful towns and villages around the Verdon gorges and lakes, alive with festivals, famous markets, village fairs and sports (Riez, Moustiers, Saint Croix, Esparron-sur-Verdon).

South facing, the balcony looks tranquilly over colorful rooftops to the lively village below and the alpine foothills at the head of the Verdon gorges. Nestling below the castle the cottage combines rustic charm (original features, thick walled cool interiors; antique oak beams, original tiling and cellar) with modern convenience. As you walk through the picturesque medieval streets to the nearby village center, you will chance upon local delicatessens and a wide selection of local gastronomy. The village boasts restaurants for all tastes and budgets.

Greoux-les-Bains and nearby Manosque (10 km) present picturesque architecture, quality boutiques, exceptional local food, theater, cinema, concerts, traditional balls, summer music festivals and the famous Roman spa. You will also find horse-riding and cycling as well as golf in nearby Manosque, and water sports on the Saint Croix & Esparron lakes (30 min). For those after excitement, the gorges afford canyoning, whitewater rafting, and hang-gliding in Castellane (60 min).

The village of Gréoux-les-Bains is a spa from the Roman and Napoleonic times and combines the charm and quiet of village life with the liveliness of a historically important location. In summer months you may appreciate evening entertainment, with orchestras and singers, or walk up to the castle for an evening concert or theater play, or stroll through pedestrianized streets to browse the boutiques open late, whilst you ponder over the nature of your evening meal from the wide range of restaurants. Unless of course you wish to take in a film at the local cinema, which has a change of program every evening.
