Getting there
In Southern Brittany, Fouesnant is a family seaside resort situated on the mouth of a small river, in the heart of the Concarneau bay. It boasts a long sandy beach and many other smaller and almost deserted beaches. Famous for its cider and traditional headdresses.
Environment : In a hamlet, in a country setting, yet just 6 km from the beach.
PLACES TO VISIT:
Glénan Archipelago. Beautiful group of little islands in crystal clear waters and bird sanctuary. Haven of peace, with stunning sandy beaches, it is also renowned for its sailing and international diving school. Many of the most famous, present French sailors were trained at the Glenan school and the sailing course remains a standard reference work. Boat crossings from Bénodet, Loctudy, Port la Forêt, Beg Meil, Concarneau.
Bénodet. 9 km. Charming and popular seaside resort and yachting centre with long and sheltered sandy beach. At the mouth of the Odet river, it can also be reached by boat from Quimper. The resort boasts a golf course, talassotherapy centre, casino and a good selection of restaurants.
Concarneau. 10 km. Fishing port with delightful fortified old city. Enjoy a stroll through the small town and donÂ’t miss the famous Kouign Amann, a Breton cake full of butter and sugar. Very naughty but so delicious!
Quimper. 16 km. Beautiful riverside city with narrow cobbled streets, a Gothic cathedral and a host of lively bars and restaurants. Famous for its Breton faience pottery and Armor Lux clothes factory which collections are inspired by the colours of the sea and Breton values.

Golf de L''Odet- Benodet, Clohars Fouesnant. 8 km. Golf course. 18 holes Par 72 - 5843m. 9 holes - Par 27 - 971m. Close to the seaside resort of Bénodet, amongst oaks and pines in a beautiful woodland with ponds, the course is full of character.
Bonobo Parc, Quimper. 15 km. Tree top adventure park. Tree top trails and aerial walkways. Great fun for the whole family. Open weekends and school holidays.
Vedettes Aven-Bélon, Moëlan sur Mer. 40 km. Boat trips. Take a trip on the “Paul Gauguin” with its panoramic viewing deck and sail past châteaux, manor houses and small harbours, observing many birds along the way. Board the boat in Pont-Aven or Port-Bélon from April to September.
FURTHER AFIELD:
Pont Aven. 25 km. ArtistsÂ’ haunt situated inland from the tip of the Aven estuary. It is a small port popular with tourists and boasting many art galleries. Made famous by Gauguin when he came to paint in the 1880Â’s before leaving for Tahiti and inspired the Pont Aven school.
Loctudy. 30 km. Picturesque and colourful fishing village where late afternoon the fishermen haul in their catch. It boasts 12 km of coastline with many sheltered fine sandy beaches. Ideal for shell picking.
Quimperlé. 40 km. Charming market town situated at the confluence of the Isole and Ellé rivers that combine to form the Laïta river. Its historic quarter is filled with pretty winding cobbled streets and quaint half-timbered houses.
Pointe du Raz. 65 km. Most famous headland in Brittany and beauty spot offering breath taking vistas over the Atlantic ocean. Celebrated by Flaubert and Victor Hugo, it attracts millions of visitors. A stunning place to be on a windy day!
