\"Lords of the Manor\" in the chateau Chanzé near Angers. Since the eleventh century, the Château de Chanzé has stood on the banks of the river Layon, a tributary of the Loire. A significant night in the Château\'s history was when King Henry IV slept here on a journey south. It is through castles such as this that the history and culture of the region live on and the Château de Chanzé offers you a unique opportunity to experience a part of French life. Having been meticulously restored, it offers all the modern comforts, while still retaining its original grandeur. The Château\'s impressive character is preserved in its two-metre-thick walls, high ceilings, and seventeenth and eighteenth century antique furniture. From the Château you can enjoy views over the river and surrounding countryside.
