ARMANDII COTTAGE Comfortably furnished and set next to owners Baronial Lodge in lovely 1.2 acre plantsmans garden. Superb rural base. All bed linen (duvet), towels & tea towels,lectric/heating included, plus welcome pack of bread,butter, eggs, milk, tea, coffee, sugar in the cottage for your arrival. The accommodation has a light airy feel with cream walls, solid tiled floors and rugs throughout. The heating and water is all electric and the kitchen well equipped with fridge, washer/dryer, microwave, electric cooker (use of freezer on request) fire extinguisher, fire blanket and a good range of cooking implements.The living/dining area has a two seat sofa, coffee table, book rack,dining table & chairs. The bathroom has a toilet, sink, shower, chrome heated towel rail and shaver point. The dual aspect bedroom has a Victorian style metal double bed with duvet and pillows, dressing table with chair and a large double built-in wardrobe.Outside of the cottage you are provided with a washing line, table & chairs, parasol and BBQ.
The grounds are a feature of the property, you are very welcome to wander and enjoy the garden where you will find several seats to sit and relax with a book or glass of wine. We have a scented rose garden, that encircles organically grown heritage vegetables.We also have a collection of nearly 200 different Hostas, including fragrant ones, plus a huge number of herbaceous perennials and grasses. Some vegetables and plants are for sale subject to availability.There are many things to see and do in the area which is a haven for wildlife.You can walk from the cottage to Newtonairds forest with it's loch and fishing, with a licence, is a stones throw in Cairn Water opposite the lodge.
Dumfries is 6.8 miles and is the county town of Dumfries and Galloway with its shopping and places of interest connected with Robert Burns. The nearest village, Dunscore (3.6 miles) has a Post Office and general store, a butcher, Public House and doctors surgery. No Smoking, No Pets Allowed, Washer/Dryer
