Most Unique Lodge : On Top of Cranberry Mountain With Views The Cranberry Mountain Lodge is one of the most unique lodging experiences in U.S. Located at 4000 feet elevation on top of Cranberry Mountain the lodge adjoins nearly one million acres of national forest. The views off the deck are spectacular. You can hike, bike or ski right out the front door to a vast trail system. The lodge is very isolated, with the nearest neighbor being 4 miles away.

The Cranberry Mountain Lodge operates on Solar & Hydro electricity. The Lodges water supply comes from a fresh mountain spring. The last 3.5 miles traveled to get to the Lodge is on a narrow gravel road. The road is suitable for 2 wheel drive vehicles except for winter months. Chains or 4-Wheel Drive are required in the winter. There is a phone, Satellite TV and VCR.

The Lodge has seven bedrooms and a pullout couch in the den. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor with a Queen & Bunk Bed in each. The first floor has a Kitchen, Dining room, Living room, Den and Bath. The 2nd floor has 4 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms 2 bedrooms have a Queen bed only and the other 2 have a Full size and twin bed in each. The 3rd floor has 1 Queen bed and 1 twin bed and a large bathroom.

When you rent the lodge you rent the entire 7-bedroom facility so you get the privacy you deserve. The Cranberry Mountain Lodge is a bird-watcher's and nature-lover's paradise. The lodge adjoins the Cranberry Black Bear Sanctuary which is one of the largest black bear sanctuaries east of the Mississippi.

7 bedrooms and 5 baths will house up to 16 people by reservation only. The lodge generates its own electric primarily through Solar Electric panels. Successive cloudy days may require guest to start a gas or propane generator. The primary heat source for the lodge comes from a wood burning stove.

Guest must be capable of starting and maintaining fires for warmth. Despite our ongoing effort to eliminate mice & squirrels in the lodge. An occasional mouse may be seen in the lodge. The hot tub is not a Jacuzzi with powerful jets. The lodge is located at the top of a steep mountain.
