Further details about property

Traditional Bed & Breakfast : Ideal Place to Relax and Enjoy Peace of Mountains The house is named “Wannawong”, which is Aboriginal for “place on the side of a hill”. This Federation style home was built in 1916, restored to its former glory and is tastefully furnished to suit the period. Two double rooms are available with tea and coffee making facilities in each room.

One room has its own en-suite while the other has access to a cosy private bathroom which offers a double shower, that also makes an ideal enclosed “bubble bath” and spa. Breakfast may be served on the veranda, or in the formal dining room. The veranda and gardens are an ideal place to relax and enjoy the peace of the mountains and the visits of the wild parrots.

Corryong is 122 km to the East of Albury and Wodonga and is the centre of the “World”, being almost halfway on the most Scenic route between Sydney and Melbourne. Corryong is also a logical stop on extended routes from Gippsland, the NSW South Coast, Cooma, Canberra and Albury/Wodonga.

The town is the last resting place of the “Man from Snowy River” and offers interesting town walks, drives to waterfalls and Scenic views. There is immediate 4WD access to some of the most exciting and beautiful high country in south east Australia. Corryong is close to the snow in Winter and cool, trout-laden mountain streams in the Summer. In Autumn and Spring the street scape will rival those of any town.

Around November through to December, wild orchids smaller than your fingernail, can be found. This is a photographers paradise if you have a passion for these types of flowers. Minimum of 3 hours required. No you will not see where the Murray bubbles out of the ground, this requires a 2 or 3 day extended tour and some hard driving and hard walking.

See where the Murray bubbles out of the ground, this requires a 2 or 3 day extended tour and some hard driving and hard walking. However on this tour we can take you to some very secluded spots, but remember this trip requires at least one night camp out under the stars. The chances of seeing “brumbies” on this trip are high.

This trip starts from the actual grave of “The Man From Snowy River”, Jack Riley. It can take in Tom Groggin Station, Mt Pinnibar, the Murray River and the actual place where Jack Riley died. Depending on which of these features you wish to see, allow a minimum of 4 hours, up to 6 or 7 for the full trip. Cool off in a mountain stream at the foot of the rapids and waterfalls in this most beautiful area.

Travel railway lines, view massive timber railway bridges, spanning gullies and creeks. You will almost still hear the sounds of the giants of the steam era grinding their way through the mountains. 3 to 6 hours could be easily filled. Granite tors and views spectacular! About 3 hours. The trip involves a difficult walk to the paintings. Allow 4 to 5 hours

Visit areas of alluvial and reef mining, the sites of vanished townships with their tantalising evidence of lives once lived. Fossick in the overburden from the mines, explore inside if you are game and pan the streams. 4 to 8 hours could easily be filled and you may make a profit on the gold you find.

Visit mountain cattlemen's huts of varied construction. This trip is also on the highly recommended list. It includes river crossings by car and foot, if you are so inclined. There are many different huts and you are almost guaranteed to see wild life such as Kangaroos. Minimum trip of 3 hours. Backyard, Private Bathroom, Shower, Formal Dining Room, Spa Bath/Jetted Tub, Community Hot Tub, Mountain, Patio, Garden View
