Your hosts, Bob and Jenny Wilkinson , commissioned one of Canterbury ’s leading architects to design for them this uniquely New Zealand home. The soaring roof embodies the characteristics of the New Zealand beach side crib, the soft ochre coloured bricks echo the tones of the Port Hills and the huge double glass doors link rooms to the decks and courtyards which allow you to enjoy the wonderful indoor/outdoor life style that New Zealanders take for granted.

Once you step inside you will appreciate the extensive use of New Zealand grown timbers. From the long living room, you will be captivated by stunning views over the city in the foreground to the Southern Alps and the sweep of Pegasus Bay at the rear . Through floor to ceiling windows the city at night is a fairytale carpet at your feet.

Your hosts have a unique set of skills to make your visit memorable. Jenny is a top woman’s bridge player. She has been a member of the national team for 12 years, travelling the world playing bridge. She is happy to arrange games, give lessons or just to talk bridge with her guests. Bob, a professional guide and tramper has a personal knowledge of all the major tramps and guided walks in the South Island and is happy to advise or arrange an adventure to suit any level of walker. Should you so wish he is able to organise walks around those famous Port Hills that form the back drop to their home. Bob is also a keen, low handicap golfer and is able to coordinate golf clubs and matches for like minded enthusiasts. Jenny, an excellent cook who specialises in Pacific rim cuisine, will provide dinners on request. Near Beach, Beach, Patio
