Amara Cancun is located a few miles north of the Cancun's famous hotel zone, with its bars and discos, as well as a few miles from major shopping areas. It is an easy trip by car or taxi to visit these areas, but is sufficiently distant to ensure tranquility. Just outside of Amara is the ferry that takes you to Isla Mujeres island in 30 minutes. Isla Mujeres is an ideal day trip for diving, snorkeling, playing with dolphins, shopping, or just enjoying a different beach. All necessary food shopping facilities are within easy reach of the development.

The Mayan Riviera is justly famous for its numerous historical, cultural and leisurely attractions. These include the ancient Mayan pyramids inland at Chicen Itza or on the coast at Tullum, picturesque coastal towns such as Playa del Carmen, historical and natural theme parks, and a wide variety of activities, from water sports to golfing.
