Hotel is Situated in A Hamlet of Just 3 Houses The hotel Lugar Do Cotariño lies at the very heart of “La Costa da Morte” and in the County “Terra de Sonería” in Camariñas (A Coruña). The hotel is situated in a hamlet of just 3 houses (all 3 belonging to the hotel), amongst cornfields, eucalyptus and pine trees. The beach is a very short distance from the Coast of Reira (natural reserve of Cabo Villano, Natura Network 2000).

The hotel has been refurbished true to its original stone structure of the houses. Two of the three houses were originally used as living quarters. The third was originally the stable. The garden, where guests can enjoy the view and relax under the calming sound of the natural stream, extends over 2500sqm. The lounge features its original Galician fireplace, known as 'lareira', which warms up during those cold winter nights.

The bedrooms are organized as follows: Two suites in the central house. Each with their own living area. Four bedrooms in the next house, two at ground floor level and the other two upstairs. Each level has its own private entrance. The third house has a room with facilities for the disabled. The bedrooms have been decorated in a contemporary style, in harmony with the traditional stonework.

The hotel provides indoor and alfresco dining. A hearty breakfast will set you up to enjoy a day visiting the many cultural and natural sites in the area. The hotel offers traditional food, using local produce such as fish and seafood including the house specialties squid, “lacon con grelos”, Galician broth, “caldeiradas”, rice dishes.

The recreation room offers Internet access. Guests can unwind while listening to music, watching TV, playing board games or simply reading their favorite books.

The spectacular “Costa da Morte” is natural beauty at its best. The imposing estuary, “ria”, penetrates inland almost 4Km. The most northern side of the coast shelters the harbour and the town of “Camarinas”, famous for its handmade lace, “encaje de bolillos”. Towards the interior, the estuary “ria de Camarinas” gently looses its marine features as it joins the river “Grande” in “Porte de Porte”. The untouched beaches of Reira show the true nature of “Costa da Morte”: an empty coastline of tragic shipwrecks, white sandy beaches swept by the Atlantic Ocean.
