Sdr. Nissum is a charming little village situated on the southern side of the inlet Nissum Fjord, right next to the magnificent dune plantation Husby Klitplantage.

Sdr. Nissum Church is a big old church built of ashlar in Romanesque style around the year 1100. A church tower has later been added to the original buildings. The pulpit and the altarpiece have been beautifully restored. A few objects from the Catholic era are exhibited at Ringkøbing Museum, a museum specialised in archaeology and local history.

On the well-kept cemetery you will find a monument erected for the victims from the warships HMS St. George and Defence, which were wrecked in 1811. If you continue the stroll, several gravestones will reveal the names of allies killed in the Second World War.
