To the visitor who arrives by land, Santa Teresa Gallura, situated at the end of the long straight road Via Nazionale, appears at  first sight like one of the few flat villages in Sardinia . Actually, as the visitor coming from the sea can immediately realize, it extends on a rocky tableland, 44 m. above the sea level, which pushes out into the Bocche di Bonifacio channel, in a very indented stretch of the coastline.
