Villa Maria: A Beautiful House with View on the Coast The house, called Villa Maria named after the first owner of our family, is a mixture of many stories, so many memories and so many different adventures. It was built at the beginning of the century on the Sciara del Scorciavacca; Mascali the country in whose territory the residence was completely destroyed by the eruption of 1928, which still retains some old memories.

The original core, according to the classic structure of the rural residence of Etna, was constituted by the home owner, from the farmer and the millstone for the processing of wine. Over time it has undergone some changes that did not alter its fundamental structure. It is currently divided into two parts and is organized according to two principles: the simplicity and warmth, with the goal to make it welcoming and hospitable.

The large terrace, below which is an ancient cistern for rainwater collection, overlooking the east coast and offers the possibility of space with your eyes on the fortress of Taormina to the port of Ripon and Timpa di Acireale. Around the house lies the properties once cultivated with vineyards and is now full of oranges, lemons, figs, and India and the lush vegetation typical of Etna. Some terraces are still visible and the network of ancient irrigation system, the saie, now replaced by a modern facility.

The house is 250 m s.l.m. and about 3 km as the crow flies from the coast, in the town of Mascali (fraction Nunziata). In a quiet, sunny, panoramic view on the east coast. Parking. Renovated in 2000 and 2010. Car needed. Ripon: 7 km. Taormina: 25 km. Giardini Naxos: 14 km. Catania: 35 km.
