Getting there
Situated approximately 25 km north west of Aix en Provence, 30 km from Manosque, and 60 km from Gorges du Verdon. Between the Durance river and Ste Victoire mountain, «Jouques en Provence» quietly lies at the crossroad of 4 departments. Jouques is a small and typical Provençal village, ideal for a tranquil and relaxing holiday whilst being within easy reach of the city. Numerous artists, painters, sculptors, potters or photographers have been inspired by the quality the landscapes, colours and light found in Jouques. Market on Sunday mornings.
Environment : In a green country setting, near a stream, but not isolated.
PLACES TO VISIT:
Peyrolles en Provence. 4 km. From its rocky position, the village dominates the river-plain which has been fought-over for centuries. While visiting the village, you will discover a beautiful chateau which today houses the town-hall: le Château du Roi René.
Mirabeau. 13 km. Dominated by a medieval château which appears to keep watch over the village and surrounded by pinetrees in a magnificent setting.
Pertuis. 17 km. A sizable little town, Pertuis is similar in feeling to Aix-en-Provence. Vestiges of the medieval past include a 13th-century tower, now a bell tower, parts of the 14th century defensive wall, remains of a 16th-century chateau, and a clock-tower campanile built in 1605.
Aix en Provence. 27 km. Stunningly beautiful and vibrant city, distinctively Provencal, with sunny squares filled with cafes, broad avenues lined with gigantic plane trees and tempting restaurants, and a substantial historical centre with elegant shops and attractive houses.

Le Village des Automates, St Cannat. 34 km. Theme park taking you to the magical world of automats. Also adventure park and petting farm.
Paintball Meyreuil, Meyreuil. 36 km. Paintballing. Come and spend a day surrounded by nature and play paintball on more than one hectare of land.
La Pignata La petite Bastide - Bouc Bel Air 36 km. The sports and recreation park is a paradise for children. There are picnic areas, a pool, go-karts and many more things to do . The Pignata is on the site of the Oxylane Village.

Marseille. 55 km. Second largest city in France, cosmopolitan and exuberant, renowned for its picturesque old port and Bouillabaisse (a tomato based soup with a multitude of different fish and shellfish).
Aubagne. 64 km. Pleasant town surrounded by hills and rocky crags, with nicely renovated old quarters. Birthplace of Marcel Pagnol of “Jean de Florette” fame.
Avignon. 85 km City of history and city of theatre, the fortified city of Avignon marked by papal history will charm you with its ancient streets, spectacular monuments and museums and impressive number of cafes and restaurants. Its famous bridge still stands over the Rhone river.
St Rémy de Provence. 88 km. As picturesque and Provencal as can be, with narrow winding streets, shady squares, fantastically old fountains, elegant shops, art galleries and plenty of bars and restaurants. The village and surrounding countryside has inspired many artists including Van Gogh who produced more than 150 paintings of the area. Also birthplace of Nostradamus.
