Shell Cottage with Wonderful Harbor Views

Located on Water Street, Shell Cottage, a year-round residence built in 2003, commands wonderful views of Castine Harbor. Just a short walk to the yacht club, golf and tennis club, shops, restaurants,and numerous other recreational venues, this shingle-style cottage is whimsically reminiscent of those built on the coast of Maine at the turn of the last century.

Suitable for six guests, our well furnished 2 bedroom cottage spans over two floors. The first floor is handicap accessible. It features open living and dining rooms, an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen, a large bedroom, a full bathroom with walk-in shower and laundry area. The second floor is comprised of a large bedroom, a full bathroom with claw-foot tub and an open loft living area with a daybed and trundle.

The stone chimney, spiral staircase, vaulted ceilings and abundant period windows lend an air of casual, light-filled summertime ambience. Sit in one of the porch rockers and rusticate while enjoying views of the water. Amenities include cable TV, DVD/VCR, CD player and wireless Internet access. Our location is ideal for walking, hiking, cycling, bird and wildlife viewing, & sightseeing. Experience the beautiful coastline while kayaking, sailing and fishing. For those who golf, enjoy nine holes at our par 35 course designed by Willie Park in 1921. Tennis players can indulge in their sport at one of the four clay courts.
